2005 CARE Act Reauthorization
The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act was first enacted in 1990 and has been reauthorized three times––first in 1996 and again in 2000 and 2006; its authorization sunsets in September 2009. Each reauthorization provides an opportunity to make improvements to the program based on the experiences of the preceding years. CAEAR Coalition is committed to pursuing policy provisions during the implementation process that will be most beneficial to people living with HIV/AIDS and those who care for them

CAEAR Coalition Collaboration with National Partners
CAEAR Coalition is partnering with other national HIV/AIDS advocacy organizations to present Congress with a strong and clear community message on reauthorization. CAEAR Coalition and AIDS Action developed joint reauthorization principles and policy positions. CAEAR Coalition is working with the Federal AIDS Policy Partnership, a national coalition, to maximize community input in the reauthorized bill.
